Routine foot and nail care appointments involve Ruth Mole or Matthew Aplin, our podiatrists, first assessing your feet. We will then discuss treatment with you and start to work on one dry foot, then the other. Treatments can involve cutting and filing nails, removing corns and/or calluses and exfoliating hard skin areas with a mechanical sander. Treatment of athlete’s foot and minor nail infections are also considered routine.
For more complex nail problems, nail surgery may be the right next step. Kelso Foot Clinic also offers an innovative verruca treatment option.
Treatments vary from person to person. At Kelso Foot Clinic, we tailor your treatment to suit your individual needs. For some people, treatment may continue over several sessions, for others, one session every few months will be sufficient. Matthew or Ruth will provide foot care and advice on how to best look after your feet at home. They may also make suggestions for which products to use, how to cut and file nails correctly and footwear advice.
